Did Jim Morrison ever use any Technology of his Day?

-I mean, did he ever play a primitive video game, or use a very early computer? Even if there are no examples, does anyone think he would? I mean games like Pong, which came out in 1966 or Spacewar!, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spacewar! So yea, any info/ideas are greatly appreciated.

Jim Morrison of THE DOORS.Well, valium was invented in the 1960's; so he probably used that on occasion. Musicians used reel-to-reel decks for recording music. The audio cassette was invented during that decade. The modular synthesizer (aka moog synthesizer) was developed in 1960. Morrison would have liked having that to play with. Morrison liked to read, wrote poetry and draw. Pinball machines were very popular; so I could imagine he would hav payed that game. Video games were not that popular or accessible during the 1960's.Not that I know of. The synth parts were written by Ray Manzarek. There's a cheesy 80's movie that is like a made for t.v. production of how the band got their inspiration and some of their developmental process. Read the McGraw Hill 'High Score'- A sort of history of video games and there was no mention of Jim Morrison.
Well, if you envision him playing a video game in a bar or at a friends house, it would have to be his ghost playing such a game. Pong, the first video game was released in 1972.

I didn't see the first Pong machine in a bar until I was in graduate school - 1973.

Jim Morrison died in 1971. Since I was 22 in 1971*, I recall the popular technology of the times:

Corded telephones

Cathode ray tube televisions - those big, ol' clunky jobbers

Transistor radios

Phonographs with turntables and adjustable speeds to play 45 rpm, 33 1/3 rpm, and 78 rpm vinyl records

Jukeboxes playing 45 rpm vinyl records

Electric guitars and a few other electric instruments - like violins and organs (not just keyboards)

Automobiles with big fins on the tail end

I doubt if he used a very early computer. Those who used computers in the late 1960s and very early 1970s were super-geeky mathematics/computer science nerds and the computers filled entire rooms. The computers then were great at crunching numbers.

He probably played card games with friends. He definitely imbibed A LOT of alcohol, "herb" and other chemical concoctions. He may have played Twister. He also probably listened to a lot of music from vinyl records played on a stereo record player (with a turntable and stylus with a needle to pick up the music vibrations from the grooves in the vinyl record.) He most likely participated in a lot of recreational sex with females.

* Note: Since I am 39 years old, still, it's hard to figure out how I could have been 22 years old 40 years ago. :-)
